Maelstrom gives all concert band members a chance to enjoy the type of musical experience usually reserved for members of jazz ensembles when they play a rock style piece.

There is an open solo section which may feature any number of solos.  A solo sheet has been provided for each instrument.  

The first two solos are the same for all instruments, and there is also a a third solo that is unique and idiomatic for each instrument.

The drum set and timpani both play key roles.
